Dolores Cecilia ("Lola)”) Movilla, 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family.
Dolores emigrated to this country from Barranquilla, Colombia as a young woman in 1967 along with her eldest children to join her husband, Felix and to start a new life.
She was the beloved wife to the late Felix Antonio Movilla for thirty-five years and was the daughter of the late Graciela Felipa Marquez and Jose Dolores Morales.
Dolores was employed at Hasbro in Central Falls, RI for thirty years.
Her passions included taking care of her many indoor plants, spending time with family and friends, reading and watching her “novelas”.
She is survived by her five children: Clifford (Candelaria) Movilla of Troy, MI, Ralph (Dora) Movilla of Attleboro, MA, Ana (Jerome) Stesney of Hamilton, NJ, Graciela Ellsworth of Southborough, MA and Ingrid (William) Corrigan of Chepachet, RI. She was predeceased by her second eldest child, Virginia.
Abuela Lola leaves eight grandchildren: David, Lisa, Aiden, Juliana, Alyssa, Ava, Brett and Marissa and two great grandchildren, Rafael and Samuel. She leaves behind three sisters, Nury Florez, Magaly Barrios and Ernestina Benitez and a large extended family. She was predeceased by her brothers, Rodrigo Morales and Adolfo Marquez.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours at Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Higginson Ave, Lincoln, RI on Tuesday the 3rd of October from 6 to 8 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, the 4th of October at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Spirit Church, 1030 Dexter St, Central Falls, RI.
Burial will follow at Notre Dame cemetery, Pawtucket, RI. She will be buried along her beloved husband, Felix.
